Ted Malt is currently the Associate Professor of Music Studies at West Shore Community College.
Prior to Ted's position at WSCC, he served as Director of Bands at Ludington Area Schools for 13 years. Originally from Ellington, Connecticut, Ted began his musical education at the age of 9 studying classical piano and saxophone. Ted moved to Michigan in 1993 to pursue a music education degree from Michigan State University. While at MSU, Ted had the opportunity to begin his teaching career early, where he served as director of music at St. Martha School in Okemos, Michigan. In 1997, the MSU Music Education Department named Ted the recipient of the Ellis Memorial Scholarship for Music Education. After graduation, Ted was employed by Mason County Central High School, where he served as Director of Bands and Choir from 1998 to 2000. Ted began teaching at Ludington High School in 2000. Along with teaching, Ted completed his Masters degree from Grand Valley State University in Education Administration. Ted has spent the past 15 years performing as well as teaching.
Ted has given performances at the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Conference in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the North Atlantic Saxophone Alliance Convention in Gainesville, Florida, the Ford Detroit Montreux Jazz Festival, the Sigurd Rascher Saxophone Seminar at Yale University, the University of Florida Saxophone Seminar, and the University of Louisville Saxophone Symposium. Ted has also had the opportunity to be a saxophone student of jazz great, Branford Marsalis; Director of Jazz Studies at San Francisco State University, Andrew Speight; Director of Applied Saxophone at Michigan State University, Joe Lulloff; and Director of Saxophone at Baldwin Wallace Conservatory, Greg Banaszak. Ted has had the opportunity to play with music legends such as Benny Carter, Marcus Belgrave, Sigurd Rascher, Nat Adderly, the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, The Verve Pipe and CHICAGO. Today, Ted continues to perform and teach in the Ludington area. Ted has served as Fine Arts Chair for the Ludington High School Curriculum Council, Vice President of Jazz Studies for Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association, District 1 and Board of Directors for the Ludington Area Arts Council. Currently, Ted serves on the Michigan State University School of Music Alumni Board of Directors. Ted is married to his supportive wife, Angela, and is the proud father of daughter, Kaylee and son Kyle.

Curt Isakson began his teaching at West Shore Community College as a Beginning Guitar Instructor in the winter of 2013. He begins teaching Music Technology and Advanced Guitar in the fall of 2013.
Curt Isakson is the Director of Bands in Shelby, Michigan since 2001. He attended Muskegon Community College and Grand Valley State University where he earned a BME. Curt also has a MS in Educational Media Design & Technology from Full Sail University. Curt teaches 6-12th grade band, and his ensembles include a Beginning Band, Cadet Band, Symphonic Wind Ensemble, and Jazz Band. All bands have active performance schedules and receive consistently high ratings at Festivals. His bands perform in the community and have traveled to Washington D.C., New York City, and is planning a trip to Disney World in 2014.
Curt lives in Whitehall, Michigan, and his wife of 37 years is the City Clerk of Wyoming, Michigan. He has two married daughters and four grand children.

Bob Parker is currently Director of Choirs and Assistant Band Director for Ludington Area Schools. He is in his 25th year of teaching in Michigan, the last 16 in Ludington. Bob completed his professional training at Michigan State University, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education and his Master’s Degree in Curriculum Design.
